Sesame-garlic marinade

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil (or canola oil)
  • 6 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Wisk ingredients to combine.

  2. If marinading tofu, press and slice.

  3. Place in a large shallow dish (or large ziplock type bag), then pour the marinade over the protein.

  4. Cover and place in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 1 hour, or even overnight. The longer you marinate, the more flavor. But I wouldn't go over 24 hours.

  5. If desired, pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan and simmer for about 3 minutes. Pour as much as desired over the protein for even more flavor and serve.
