Hamantaschen Filling: Prunes

Ingredients

  • 1 C prunes, cooked and finely chopped
  • 2 tsp orange peel
  • 1/3 C sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3-4 Tbsp liquid, from cooking prunes or orange juice

Instructions

  1. In heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring, till mixture has thickened and flavors are blended.

  3. Remove from the heat and let cool. May be refrigerated in covered jar 4-5 days. Bring to room temperature before using.
