Fish Steak & Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp citron, jus
  • 1/4 cup vin blanc
  • 1 gousse ail, hachee
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp poivre
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds, crushed
  • sel
  • 2 lb staek de poisson, 3/4 in. thick
  • 1 Tbsp huile d'olives
  • 1/2 lb champignons, en lamelles
  • 2-3 green onion, sliced

Instructions

Combine lemon juice, garlic, oregano, pepper, fennel seeds and salt. Add fish and let stand, turning occasionally, for 30 min. Lift fish and drain, reserving marinade and place in a greased broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat for 5 min; turn and broil until flesh inside is just opaque in thickest portion, 5 to 8 min. more. Heat oil in frying pan, add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft. Stir in reserved marinade and simmer for 2 min. Transfer fish to a serving dish, top with mushroom sauce and sprinkle with onions.
